James
M. Weatherly practices in the intellectual property law fields
of biology, biotechnology, horticulture, mechanical, computer
software, plant property rights, trademarks, copyrights and
licensing. His practice focuses on preparing U.S. patent
applications, U.S. plant patents, European plant breeder’s
rights, and prosecuting U.S. and international trademarks as
well as creating complex licensing agreements between parties
with diverse interests.
Mr. Weatherly graduated with a Master’s Degree in Botany with an
emphasis in Microbiology from the University of Wyoming in 2000
and received a law degree from the University of Wyoming in
2006.
While attending law school, Mr. Weatherly served as an extern
with the Honorable Clarence A. Brimmer of the U.S. District
Court for the District of Wyoming.
Prior to law school, Mr. Weatherly worked nationally and
internationally. He was an Agricultural Volunteer with the U.S.
Peace Corps in the Republic of Haiti where he managed the
county’s first agricultural development laboratory.
